Co-founder Yuppiechef, MOA Holdings

Andrew Smith, the co-founder of Yuppiechef, South Africa's leading kitchen and home retailer, is a quintessential example of entrepreneurship that marries passion with innovation. Starting Yuppiechef in 2006 with Shane Dryden, Smith navigated the company from a part-time venture out of a living room to a flagship in omnichannel retailing in South Africa. The business was bought by Mr Price in 2021.

More about the event

Who is it for?

Founders / Co-Founders at any stage of their business journey, who have between 3 and 100 employees and are dealing with meaningful business challenges.

How many people will be selected?

A maximum of 20 participants will be selected. We are looking for founders/co-founders of their business, currently dealing with meaningful business challenges. We want to create an interesting diverse group of views that will provide the best learning opportunity for all.

​

Applications close on Friday, 23 February 2024.

How much does it cost?

Each of the 20 participants pay R900 to attend the event. Payment details will be sent upon notification of participation.

How does it work?

The event begins with a facilitated discussion of the speakers' most significant entrepreneurial challenges, continues with an in-depth participant-led discussion on their most pressing business obstacles, and ends with a takeaway artefact capturing the group’s discussions and learnings. Drinks and snacks will be served after the event.
